WHAT TO EXPECT

You will arrive at Y Bar Ranch at lunchtime on day one. After lunch, you and your group can shot your weapons at our range to make sure the are still sited in. Then load up in our vehicles and head out for some of the best hog hunting of your life. The hunt is semi guided, which means your guide will take you to your stand or tripod, drop you off, and feed the roads and senderos for you. Our brush cover is extremely thick which is great cover for the hogs and javelinas, but it makes it very difficult to do spot and stock hunting. So most of our hunting is done from stands and tripods. Your guide will pick you up about a half hour past dark, so scopes with large objectives are recomended. Some hunters prefer spotlights. Your guide will track if necessary, and load your animal or animals. You will arrive back to the lodge that evening where hors d'oeuvres and a campfire on our rock patio await. Shortly after, a sit down dinner will be served.

On day two, after a contental breakfast, you will hunt until lunchtime. After lunch you may take a nap on one of our many covered porches or enjoy many of the other activities available: fishing, sporting clays, play pool, throw horseshoes, and swimming. Around 3:00pm you will load up for an afternoon/evening hunt. Your evening would be the same as day one with the only exception being a new dinner menu.

On day three, after a continental breakfast, you will hunt in the morning and have the option to be back at the lodge for a mid morning full breakfast, or hunt till lunchtime. As you depart your guide load your meat into your coolers and help ice down your meat for your trip home.
