Dad and I had the pleasure of hunting with you and your team the weekend
of October 26th, 2007. This was my Dad's first quail hunt in over
40 years, first quail hunt in Texas, and first "South Texas"
quail hunt. I'd like to extend a HUGE "thank you" for a
very pleasurable experience.
I'd like to tell you, and anyone else who may read this, we took our
full limits of dove and quail each day; but the truth is we didn't.
(laughing) I will say we certainly had the opportunity to take full
limits of each on each day; I think between us we shot about 1 1/2
cases of shells ..... what can I say, neither of us are the best shots
in Texas. But the game was there, and ALL of your staff did their
best to put us on birds; both dove and quail.
The facilities, staff, ranch, and food was first rate. I probably
ate more over the weekend than I had eaten the entire week before!
I couldn't even think of eating another bite when it came time for
lunch on Sunday when we were to leave, though Dad said it was one
of the VERY BEST chicken fried steaks he had ever had. (by the way
...... no one would share your secret blend of steak seasonings for
our excellent steaks Saturday evening. We did however hear a few tales
about a certain Crown Royal marinade you "use" for cook-offs.)
We had a very enjoyable trip Steven and I wanted you to know ALL there
provided us with a hunting trip, and experience, we will remember
a LONG LONG time.
I will add (in case anyone else should read this) we were hunting
and had a great hunting trip. Anyone who hunts knows and understands
on any given day, or even any given hunt, conditions change; wind
shifts, cool fronts, even rains ....... these are conditions beyond
anyone's direct personal control and each, though subtle, can cause
a change in game movements when hunting wild game. We did not have
the extreme changing conditions we often experience here in Texas
.... what we had was a REAL hunting trip, on an excellent managed
ranch, with a quality staff of people who understand the wildlife
and hunting, and the needs of true hunting guests. You, and your team,
took care of all things within your control in a very friendly, yet
professional, manner; I can not image any place I would have rather
taken my Dad for his first South Texas quail hunting trip.
All I can say is "Thank You"! I know we would enjoy hunting
with you again; I only hope we would be welcomed guest and allowed
to return.

Randy and I would like to thank you for an excellent hunt this past
spring. The service and accommodations were excellent. I loved the
Quail hors d'oeuvre over a mesquite grill and the trout and red-bass
for dinner was excellent.
Roger did a great job taking care of us and entertaining us with fishing
between hunts. I have never been in a tree stand when it was 102 degrees
though. With the hogs going nocturnal we were still able to killed
3 hogs and a bore javelina.
I'm already thinking about next spring. How early in the year can
we come and not disturb your deer hunting? ..........
I think I have also recruited one more for next year.

I really enjoyed the time on your ranch and
the quail hunting. It was the first quail hunting I have done in probably 30
years, but it has certainly rekindled the fire. You have a first class

hunting at the Y Bar Ranch when
EHS has several holidays in October. We
are going Sunday Oct 10th returning Tuesday October 12 after a morning hunt.
We sure would enjoy you and your sons being
on the hunting trip as well!
I bought a Y bar father & son hunt at the
SF auction last year ( the
ranch owners have strong SF ties) and we
had an absolute blast. The
accommodations, food and hunting are all
fantastic plus they could not have been nicer to the boys.
